Costume suggestions

Postby jsbene » Sat Jan 10, 2009 10:46 pm

In one of the sections to the party guests, it states, 'You will receive information, including costume tips, about...' I never found any costume tips for the individual characters. Are there any?

Hi Janet,

For this game there aren't individual costume tips, just the generic ones that are found at the bottom of the cast list page.

best wishes,

Mo

I took the time to write out specific costume suggestions for each of my characters in my game. Feel free to use/edit any or all of these for your own use!
WARNING: This contains a small spoiler, so do not read if you don't want to know more about the other characters!!

ORIGINAL CHARACTERS
'Black' Jack McCracken -- Your character is a powerful and charming pirate captain. Try to find a long button down jacket or coat to distinguish yourself as captain. Other costume ideas include a white flowing shirt, large pirate hat and tall boots or leather shoes.

'Saucy' Nancy Martin -- Your character is a female pirate captain. Try to find a long button up jacket or coat to distinguish you as captain. Underneath, a white shirt would do, and you can’t forget a large pirate hat and tall leather boots.

Sawbones McGraw -- As the ship's doctor, your character is more educated than the average pirate, so consider wearing more formal clothing such as a suit or vest, but don’t forget your pirate hat and other accessories (you’re still a pirate after all!)

Alice Tremain -- Your character is a female pirate. Your captain will be wearing a long button up jacket, so try and find other pirate inspired clothing items. Britches or skirts will do. Look for items with stripes, or a loose white top.

Blaise Richelieu -- Your character is a ship’s cook. Consider wearing pirate style clothing (red and white stripes, tattered and torn clothing, pirate hat) and topping it off with an apron or smock.

Quintus Swelter -- Your character is a ship’s cook. Consider wearing pirate style clothing (red and white stripes, tattered and torn clothing, pirate hat) and topping it off with an apron or smock.

Tom -- * SPOILER ALERT * -- Your character, Tom, is actually Meg Stanforth (a girl) in disguise! No one knows this, and it is an important secret in the game. For your costume come dressed as a male pirate, preferably with your hair tucked into a hat or cap. Later in the game, when/if you are found out to be a girl, you can remove your cap and let down your hair.

Grace Cooper -- Your character is a female pirate. Your captain will be wearing a long button up jacket, so try and find other pirate inspired clothing items. Britches or skirts will do. Look for items with stripes, or a loose white top.

Sir Percival Stanforth -- Your character is Governor of the newly founded territory of Jamaica. You are a devoted Queen’s Man for the glorious country of England. Try and track down a formal button up coat or jacket with naval influences. Consider wearing a powdered white wig (or putting flour in your hair to turn it white) and carrying a cane.

Elizabeth Stanforth -- As an English Lady, we suggest you find a modest, floor length, light cotton dress with capped sleeves. Your dress is in the “Regency” style, similar to what is worn in “Jane Eyre” or “Pride and Prejudice.”

Hal Overy -- As an officer of the Queen’s Navy, we suggest you track down a naval inspired jacket, preferably in dark blue or white. Pair this with semi-formal trousers, like slacks or khakis.

Cassinga -- The Taino people are a real tribe of South America. They often adorn their bodies with white striped face paint. Most of their clothing is made from natural fibers, so try to wear neutral colors or even a grass skirt! You are the religious mystic of your tribe therefore you could adorn yourself with things found in nature like bones, leaves, or shells, and carry some sort of staff or talisman.

Tokeleth -- The Taino people are a real tribe of South America. They often adorn their bodies with white striped face paint. Most of their clothing is made of natural fibers, so try to wear neutral colors or even a grass skirt. You can accessorize your outfit with things found in nature like shells, flowers, or leaves.

Hayapitl -- The Taino people are a real tribe of South America. They often adorn their bodies with white striped face paint. Most of their clothing is made of natural fibers, so try to wear neutral colors or even a grass skirt. As chiefs you should distinguish yourself in some way, perhaps with an ornate headdress. You can also accessorize your outfit with things found in nature like shells, flowers, or leaves.

Don Inigo -- You are the most influential representative of the powerful Spanish government in the Caribbean. To distinguish yourself, consider wearing a formal period style jacket, preferably in red. You might also try and track down a pirate-style hat with a large feather. Don’t forget to draw on (or grow) a pencil-thin mustache in the style of so many Spanish greats!

Salamanca -- The proud Spanish people love to show off their heritage by wearing bright colors, especially red. Try and track down a semi formal suit or jacket with period influences. A valet’s outfit would not be complete without a white kerchief tied about the neck.

EXTRA CHARACTERS
Balavari -- The Taino people are a real tribe of South America. They often adorn their bodies with white striped face paint. Most of their clothing is made of natural fibers, so try to wear neutral colors or even a grass skirt. You can accessorize your outfit with things found in nature like shells, flowers, or leaves.

Madam Zuzu -- Your character has been deserted on the island for some time now, so certainly her pirate-style dress is dirty or torn. As a voodoo mistress, you have quite an intimidating look, perhaps with dark makeup or magical symbols drawn onto your skin. As a worshiper of the dark, your dress should of course be in dark colors as well, like black, purple, or red.

Belladonna -- Let’s not be tame here – your character is a good ol’ fashioned prostitute! You are dressed in the style of “wench” often portrayed in pirate films. You have heavy make-up on, and your period-style pirate dress is showing off all your best assets (if you know what we mean!)

Ginger Roberts -- To set yourself apart as a news reporter, consider wearing glasses and wearing period-style clothing with a “business-like” air. Think about if your character would prefer wearing a dress, or britches; or if they would dress more in the style of the Europeans or the pirates.

Reverend Ian Plumpton -- Your character is a man of the cloth, so of course you should wear a black suit with the stiff white collar. You might also consider wearing a cross around your neck.
