Re: More Alcohol confusuion

1. Yes, it would probably be sensible for no-one else to voluntarily take a drink. But they often just do anyway -- whether to be sociable, or to be polite, or because they're nervous, or to try and get someone else inebriated quicker... basically they aren't always sensible. You can't force a drink...

Re: Drop out rates

Our own experience when running these games has been very good re dropouts -- they are very unusual. But then we are usually running playtests of new games or new editions, and the guests are by definition highly motivated. I wonder if when people are hiring in a commercial service, they're perhaps ...

Re: Angela McIntosh

Hi there, We made Angela female because that way there's a good chance that her friendship with Dave will develop into romance (she is a better 'true love' for him than Shantell) -- but apart from that minor thing, the game as a whole certainly would all still work pretty well if you changed her to ...

Re: Expansion Pack Extra Info

Hi there, Thank you for checking out Casino Fatale! We don't have a version of the files with the extra info integrated, I'm afraid -- it wouldn't be practical, because we'd need a separate set for each possible combination of extra characters that a host might end up including. But you're very welc...

Re: What does the dance-off involve?

Hi there, Thanks for your interest in Murder on the Dancefloor! In the fiction of the game, the dance-off is a contest which some of the characters will take part in for the chance of winning a trophy, a cash prize, and the chance of stardom. The way that works in real life is flexible and up to the...

Re: 8 players - Ideal Characters to use

Thanks Lee, that's a great answer! We generally recommend that with 8 you use the core 6 characters plus Lindsay and Eva, but depending on your gender balance you could put Robert in ahead of Eva if that fits your group better.

Thanks Steve, yes, that's quite right -- and your two extra bits of rule are spot-on. We'll amend the ability to make that clear for future customers.

Re: Which character to take out?

Hi Sigrún, Yes, absolutely – Ghana is a good character for the host to play, if you need to double-up. Or Les Tytan is another option, if you prefer. Hollywood Lies is a pretty straightforward game to host compared with some of our others, so you shouldn't find it any problem to combine both tasks. ...

Re: Floor Plan

Hi there, Yes, that's correct, you don't lay out the item cards -- you keep them with you. If someone asks to search a particular room then you show them the 'in plain sight' items for that room (and also the 'observant only' items if they have the Observant ability), but not otherwise. The idea is ...

Hi Radhika, We replied to you earlier by email, but I'm copying the answer here for anyone else who might be wondering about this. We absolutely appreciate that this side of the game isn't obvious to hosts, so we want to do everything we can to help you. So, first, no, you don't need to set up your ...

Re: Results of Auctions and Purpose of Chips

Hi there, The idea of the auction items is really that people bid for them to show off how wealthy and generous they are, rather than being that bothered about collecting the actual prize -- that's why eg. the weekend isn't really worth anything during the game itself, other than the pleasure of hav...
